CLASS technology selected by EC Innovation Radar
The CLASS technology has been selected by the European Commission’s (EC) Innovation Radar among the most highly innovative EU projects. CLASS’ innovation was assessed by the Joint Research Centre’s Market Creation Potential indicator framework as having a “High” level of Market Creation Potential. Only innovations that are showing multiple signals of market creation potential are assigned a value under this indicator system.
The innovation entry of CLASS is titled “A software architecture ecosystem for distributing big-data workloads along the compute continuum while providing real-time guarantees” and the Key Innovators identified in this project are the coordinating institution BSC, as well as the partners IBM Research - Haifa and Atos Spain.

EC Innovation Radar
The Innovation Radar is a EC initiative to identify high potential innovations and innovators in EU-funded research and innovation projects. Its main goal is to allow every citizen, public official, professional and business person to discover the outputs of EU innovation funding and give them a chance to seek out innovators.
This Innovation Radar platform includes information about EU-funded innovations from high-quality projects and makes it visible and accessible to the public. Moreover, by providing greater access to such information the platform hopes to encourage the development of a dynamic ecosystem of incubators, entrepreneurs, funding agencies and investors that can help get EU-funded innovations faster to market.
In recent years many great EU-funded innovations identified by the Innovation Radar have also been championed as part of the Innovation Radar prize scheme.
